Apple, the Cupertino-based consumer electronics giant has launched Beddit 3.5 Sleep monitor. The sleep tracker is capable of measuring sleep time, heart rate, breathing, snoring, and bedroom temperature and humidity.
Beddit, the Finnish company was acquired by Apple in 2017. Since the acquisition, this is the first product Apple has launched. The Beddit 3.5 is a thin Sensor Strip that can be placed under the Bed Sheet to track body movements throughout the night. It’s able to track a lot more than just vitals throughout the night.
Despite of being able to track a lot of things, the obvious advantage provided by the Beddit 3.5 is, One doesn’t have to wear it or remember using it. You can just put it under your bed and forget about it. It will continue to do its job and keep sending regular reports based on your sleeping activity.
You can still connect it to your Apple Watch, which can display sleep report notifications, bedtime reminders, and nudges when synced. Furthermore, data from this device can also be synced to the iCloud, where you can access it later at any given date via the Health App available on iOS12 or later.
The Apple Watch Series 4 still doesn’t offer any native sleep-tracking abilities, but for now, there are third-party apps that’ll help track your bedtime, including Beddit’s own app. Until then, Apple’s new Beddit Sleep Monitor is looking to fill that gap.
With this new innovation to track sleep time activity, a lot of health issues can be easily tackled by simply recording the data from your most vital activity (Sleep.)
